WristChatUI — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-07
WristChatUI is a bring-your-own-key AI chat client for iPhone and
Apple Watch, published by [Your Full Name]. This page describes what data
the app handles. The short version: almost everything stays on your
devices.
Summary
- We do not operate a backend. There is no WristChatUI account system.
- The app does not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or any
other diagnostic data.
- API keys, conversations, and settings live on your devices.
- The only network calls the app makes are the ones you point at the
AI endpoints you configure.
Data stored on your devices
- API keys — stored in the iOS Keychain. Not transmitted to any server we operate.
- Conversations and messages — stored in a local SwiftData database on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Endpoints, system prompts, custom headers, and other settings — stored locally.
Data sent to third parties
- AI provider requests — when you send a message, the app
transmits your message, the active endpoint's system prompt, and your
API key to the base URL you have configured (for example
api.openai.com, api.anthropic.com,
api.minimaxi.com, or a self-hosted gateway). Each
provider has its own privacy practices; consult them.
- iCloud backup — if you tap "Back Up to iCloud" in
Settings, the app writes your conversations as JSON into your
private iCloud Drive container
(
iCloud.com.wristassistant.app). iCloud storage is
governed by Apple's iCloud Terms, not this policy.
- Apple Watch sync — endpoints, API keys, and chats
sync between your iPhone and a paired Apple Watch over Apple's
WatchConnectivity framework. The data stays on your two devices.
Data we do not collect
We have no backend, so we do not collect usage analytics, crash
reports, device identifiers, location, contacts, advertising
identifiers, purchase history, or any other diagnostic or advertising
data.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (COPPA) and we do not
knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights and controls
- Export — use "Back Up to iCloud" in Settings to export your conversations as JSON.
- Delete — delete the app to remove all local data. iCloud Drive backups are managed in iOS Settings under your iCloud storage.
- Edit — edit or delete individual messages in the app, or delete whole conversations.
Changes
We will post material changes to this page and bump the "Last updated"
date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
